Fauquier County
Warrenton
Old Virginia, still going.
The place
Warrenton is the handsome county seat of Fauquier — a real Main Street of brick storefronts and deep porches, with horse country beginning almost at the edge of town. It is far enough out to feel like the country and close enough that the commute still works, which is exactly why people who thought they wanted Loudoun often end up here.
Life here
What living in Warrenton feels like
The everyday
A walkable historic district, Saturday markets, and vineyards and trailheads in nearly every direction out of town.
The homes
In-town Victorians and Federals with genuine provenance, established neighborhoods on the ridge, and farms and acreage beyond the bypass.
The connection
Route 29 north toward Gainesville and I-66, with the Piedmont opening up the moment you head the other way.
The market
In-town homes broadly from the $500s, with farms, estates, and acreage properties well into the millions.
